History: Founders Of School
Late Smt. Karuna chattree (Founder)
In the year 1973, while working as teacher and serving the society, Mrs. Karuna, with her passion for teaching, came up with an idea to open an affordable school for all round development of children.
This idea led to the opening of Balmukund School in 1975. At that time the school begun its operations in a two room structure. By word of mouth, Balmukund School became so popular among people that soon there was need for a bigger building to meet the growing demand to educate more than 2000 children. Looking at the passion and commitment of Mrs. Karuna Chattree, a great social worker of Bilaspur, Shri. Hussain Ali & Shri. Ram Babu Sonthaliya decided to come forward and help the special cause. In 1981, the current building was built to ensure children get the best of education and all round development.
The new building was inaugurated by Shri. B.R. Yadav (Minister, Madhya Pradesh Govt). Since then there has been no looking back. Balmukund School has been progressing in the field of quality and affordable education.
The founder of Balmukund school, Late Smt. Karuna Chattree was a versatile lady who was also committed in household and social activities like. She used to participate in all types of social activities.
This led to an everlasting respect and honour for her amongst the people of Bilaspur.
Past Chairman
Late Shri Ram Babu Sonthaliya
Former BDA of Bilaspur Nagar Nigam also known as the architect of Bilaspur, late Shri Sonthaliya worked side by side with Mrs. Karuna Kshatriya from the initial days of this school.
It was his commitment and helping nature that made Balmukund school achieve new heights in academic brilliance. The school will always remain grateful and cherish Shri Sonthaliya’s efforts and commitmen.
Vice Chairman
Mr. Hussain Ali
Mr. Hussain Ali was a famous contractor and social worker of Bilaspur city. Hussain Ali ji has been instrumental in the stability and construction of the school.
Since he laid the foundation in 1981, Balmukund School has been a boon for this area . Hussain Ali ji’s personality finds a special mention in all sections of the society. Keeping focus on humanity, he was fully aware of the quality of education needed by all strata of the society. His contribution will be remembered by one and all.
